5.4m EUR for city dump in Pirot - contract to be signed on August 20

- Contract on construction of regional sanitarian dump for disposal of solid communal waste in Pirot, worth about 5.4m EUR, will be signed by the representatives of local self-governent, European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) and contractor - company "Alpine Bau GmbH" - EAR announced.

According to the announcement, the contract on construction of the first phase of dump "Muntina Padina" in Pirot will be signed on August 20 by the Mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasić, and the Head of Belgrade-based EAR operative center, Danijel Đuglaris.

The project for construction of the first phase includes the works on organization of the dump, as well as works on construction of the accompanying infrastructure in the complex. The aim of the project is improvement of the solid communal waste management system, which will enable more secure and more reliable collecting and disposal of communal waste in municipalities of Pirot, Babušnica, Dimitrovgrad and Bela Palanka.

MISP (the Municipal Infrastructure Support Programme), which is financed by EU and realized by EAR, provides assistance to the municipalities in Serbia in preparation of documentation and implementation of the infrastructure projects in field of water supply, wastewater, solid waste, remote heating, dormitories and shelters, educational facilities... More than 14 projects worth about 65m EUR have been implemented in Serbia since 2005.
