The president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, and the owner of the Italian company Caminada, Aldo Caminada, laid down the foundation stone for the construction of the factory in Subotica, in the Mali Bajmok industrial zone, on September 7. This is the first factory the company is building outside Italy.

The construction of the factory is the first phase of the investment, which entails the construction of a 3,000-m2 hall, whereas the investment is to reach EUR 5 million in the next five years and lead to the employment of 50 to 70 workers.

– The factory is being built in Serbia thanks to the competent authorities that have enabled the construction of the facility for thermoplastic production of molds by injection six months after the land was purchased – Aldo Caminada said.

Mirovic thanked Caminada for his decision to invest in Vojvodina and pointed out that, a year before, the province had had an unemployment rate of slightly below 19%, and that it was less than 13% at the moment and that good relations with foreign investors were an example of a new image of Vojvodina.

He announced that the Development Agency of Vojvodina would initiate the first public contest for incentives the next week and that he expected that all companies, both local and foreign ones, would get an additional impulse for the development of entrepreneurship.

As said in March on the occasion of the land purchase contract, Caminada deals in production and molding of plastic components used in the automotive industry.

– We want to expand by 10 thousand square meters in a few years. This is only the first phase, and we plan to increase the number of employees in the second and the third one. We have decided to invest here, as we already have a client in the Industrial Zone, the company Ametek. Our idea is to cooperate with them. Also, we might reach a new client as well, the company Dunkermotoren, Ametek’s partner. We also have a client in Hungary, so it’s much more economic to do business with them from Serbia – Caminada said at the time.
