Total of 140m EUR will be invested in construction of market chains in Kragujevac.
The opening of German market chain "Metro Cash&Carry" at the end of year 2005, along with 15m EUR worth of investment, started the unique expansion of the trade sector in Kragujevac, in which, according to the signed contracts, 140m EUR will be invested and more than 1,800 workers employed.
German company hired 220 workers and invested 15m EUR in Distribution center "Metro Cash&Carry" at 6,000 square meters.
Trade center "Mercator", in which 20m EUR was invested, will be opend in Kragujevac on August 30th. The facility at 30,000 square meters will be called "Roda centar" and it will employ 300 workers.
The complex worth 60m EUR will be built in settlement Stara Radnička Kolonija, at the surface of 80,000 square meters, and its construction will commence on September 1st. Deadline for completion of works is 18 months. Once finished, that center will employ about 1,000 workers.
Austrian company "Supernova" also starts construction of 45m EUR worth of trade center at 60,000 square meters this autumn.
Once it is opened, "Supernova" will have 300 workers.
According to unofficial information, locations for construction of trade centers in Kragujevac are also sought by Swedish "Ikea", French "Cora" and Croatian "Agrokor".
