Government to form new military plant Zastava Tervo

The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision enabling the formation of a new non-combat army vehicle plant in Zastava Kamioni, to be called Zastava Terenska Vozila, i.e. Zastava tervo. This way, the vehicle needed by the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other non-civilian clients will be included in the regular production, reports the Danas daily.

As the Ministry of Economy says, a functioning model has already been made. Since the majority of the components are produced in Serbia, the Serbian Armed Forces, as the Ministry claims, will get a modern, yet non-expensive vehicle.

– The start of the production for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other non-civilian institutions opens the possibility of exporting either basic or upgraded models of those trucks to the states of the region primarily, but also those that Serbia has traditionally had the economic and military cooperation with, such as the countries of the northern Africa, the Middle East and the South America – the Ministry of Economy points out
