The largest domestic insurance company, Dunav osiguranje, published consolidated financial reports for the first six months, which include the operations of the parent company and its subsidiaries.

In the period January-June, Dunav company recorded a gross premium of almost RSD 14 billion (up 6.9%), while net income from the insurance and coinsurance premium jumped 6.4% to RSD 10.7 billion.

However, net result has been considerably lower due to large expenditures on the basis of liquidated claims for non-life insurance, and higher costs of acquisition (costs of salaries and advertising, above all). In the first six months, Dunav generated a consolidated net profit of 53.2 million dinars, representing a fall of almost 94% compared to the same period last year.

The state is majority owner of Dunav osiguranje, whose privatization has been announced in the past, but for now the issue of social capital (51.9%), which is not stated in the shares has not been solved, Wisebroker reports.
