Mayor of Gornji Milanovac Dejan Kovacevic met with representatives of German investors interested in building a biomass power plant and a pellet plant on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

– It is especially significant that the subject of this investment is a biomass power plant with a pellet plant, as one of our strategic goals is to have a heating system using renewable energy sources – Kovacevic said.

Sasa Veljkovic, representative of Serbia Consulting, a company which manages foreign investments in Serbia, said that the power plant would have 10 MW of power and produce 120,000 pellets a year, of which a third would be used for the power plant, whereas the rest would be sold in the market.

The value of the investment is between 50 and 60 million euros, and the plan is to employ up to 70 workers.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Council for Protection of German Foreign Investments, Heinz Stoppe and Roland Harle.

They promised to present the potentials of Gornji Milanovac to other companies from related fields.

As reported, potential investors also visited potential locations for the construction of the power plant.
