Another two market chains in Serbia prior to end of year - investments by Austrians and Turks
Minister of Trade and Services, Slobodan Milosavljević, has announced that two large market chains from Austria and Turkey could start investing in Serbia this autumn.
- Now when it is for certain that Serbia is on its way to Europe, I expect quicker realization of that idea - he said to agency Beta, but he did not want to specify the names of the companies or the value of investments.
Milosavljević said that those companies had already made the decision about entering Serbian amrket, which should be confirmed by their boards in September. That should be followed by procurement of locations and commencement of construction of the first facilities.
According to his words, Austrians will have the first market built in Subotica or Novi Sad, while Turkish company decided to have the first facility opened in Niš.
- There is much space in Serbian market for foreign market chains because "Metro" is the only market chain of the world's top ten market chains that is present in Serbia, while the retail facilities of "Tesco", "Kora" and "Billa" exist in the surrounding countries for years - said Milosavljević.
