Coca-Cola has decided to rename its Zero brand to Zero Sugar, Beta reports.
The new name is supposed to further emphasize that the drink doesn’t contain sugar, and the new recipe will make the taste more similar to regular Coke.
As Beta reports, the company hasn’t specified what will change precisely, except to say that the mixture of tastes will change a bit and that it will use the same artificial sweeteners.
Coca-Cola also said that the new packaging would contain more red and be more like the bottle of regular Coca-Cola and added that the new drink would appear in stores in August, Tanjug reports.
The soft drink manufacturer reported that they had had a steep decline in net profit by 60.2% to USD 1.4 billion in the second quarter of 2017.
The company’s revenues also dropped by 16% to USD 9.7 billion, France-Presse reports.
This sharp decline of business results is a consequence of the expenditures of USD 653 million tied to the sale of filling factories in North America, as the company is turning towards expanding the offer of non-carbonated drinks and drinks with minimal sugar content due to a decrease in the demand for sweet drinks.
The sale of Coca-Cola with zero sugar has recorded a strong growth in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, Tanjug reports.
