Air Serbia increases number of passengers in first half of 2017 – Cargo transport increases by 54.6%

Air Serbia reported today that it had transported 1.12 million passengers in the first six months of 2017, an increase of 3% compared to the same period of 2016. The capacity of the passenger transport network, expressed as available seat kilometers (ASK), the product of the multiplication of the number of available seats and the number of kilometers flown, rose by 16% compared to last year to 1.93 billion.

Air Serbia says that the capacity usage rose by three percentage points to 70.5%.

Cargo transport rose by 54.6% with 2.988 tons transported in the first half of 2017.

In 88.78% of the cases, as stated, flights from the Nikola Tesla Airport were on schedule.

CEO Dane Kondic estimated that the operating results of the company in the first half of 2017 had been considerable in all aspects, with both the number of passengers and the amount of cargo transported being bigger than in 2016.


– We have continued introducing new products and services during this period by installing new seats and improving our check-in systems in our Airbus narrow-body fleet, thanks to the Sabre platform – Kondic said.

Air Serbia started operating as the national airline of Serbia in October 2013.
