Zlatibor's marble for buildings of company "Microsoft" - our stone became world-acknowledged brand
Company "Zlatibor mermer" from Užice delivers marble for covering of about 7,000 square meters at "Microsoft's" buildings in Seattle.
That is the most significant job this Užice-based company got ever since it was privatized about two years ago. The company was bought by Italian citizen Pjero Zanela, the third generation of the stonecutters from Verona. He bought three rich quarries of the Užice "Zlatibor mermer" - in Sirogojno, Skržuti and "Plavi tok" in Kalenić near Požega.
– The owner has, so far, invested about 1m EUR in equipment and repayment of old debts. Also, he promoted the material from Zlatibor. In addition to "Plavi tok", the world has now also heard of red marble from Sirogojno and yellow marble from Skržuti. We have become exporters without importing anything, we are reducing the state's deficit. We are exporting natural stone that is an everlasting resource – the CEO of "Zlatibor mermer", Dragan Milojević, explains.
