United Textile, a subsidiary of Turkey's Birlesik Tekstil, will employ 600 workers in Lazarevac by the end of the summer, City Manager of Belgrade Goran Vesic announced, as reported by Beoinfo.

– It is my great pleasure to have visited the former Beko factory today, which has been out of operation in Lazarevac for 14 years now and which will be revived in a month to a month and a half and hire new employees thanks to the Turkish investor. Initially, around 300 workers, mostly women, will be employed in the first shift, and in two months at the most, another 300 will be employed in the second shift. Once the reconstruction of the current factory, which has around 3,800 square meters, is completed, the construction of a new facility, with 4,500 square meters, will begin, and we expect another 600 workers to be employed there – Vesic said.
