The German fund Fincor is interested in purchasing the company Ratko Mitrovic, and former minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic has been hired as an adviser in the fund, Blic reports.

He will therefore try, in a whole different capacity, to save the formerly big construction company, which is in bankruptcy and experiencing financial problems, although he could have done so much earlier, while he was the competent minister, Blic writes.

The workers of this once great company are in a very difficult situation, as two years' worth of salaries has not yet been paid to them. Furthermore, the Ratko Mitrovic company owes RSD 500 million in taxes, and this debt is the reason why the state intends to sell the company to Fincor.

Mrkonjic has confirmed that he has worked as a special adviser for six months there, but he adds that no one has consulted him regarding the purchase of Ratko Mitrovic.

– If they do, I'll tell them to do it, as this is a good company – Mrkonjic says. When asked why he wasn't solving the problems in Ratko Mitrovic while he was minister, he said: “There were no problems in that company during my mandate”.

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic stated that she only knew from the media about the alleged sale of the construction company and pointed out that her ministry was not in charge of the sale of companies.
