(Future look of facility in Zlatibor) The construction of the waste water treatment facility in Obudovica in Zlatibor will begin in July, as confirmed for our portal at the Municipality of Cajetina. The expropriation of the terrain has begun, and the preparation of the project for the building permit is in progress, following which the consortium which has won at the tender (consisting of the Slovenian company Hidroinzeniring, Belgrade's Beohidro and Jedinstvo from Uzice) can begin performing construction works. They should be completed by the end of the construction season so that all the other works could continue indoors.
– The realization of the project began in August 2016, when the preparation of the documentation started, and the project is supposed to last 870 days, according to the contract, which encompasses the test run as well – Dragana Topalovic, a civil engineer from the Municipality of Cajetina, says for our portal.
This means that waste water treatment in the facility in Obudovica is supposed to begin in 2019.
As our interviewee explains, the waste water collection and treatment facility has been designed to meet the waste water treatment needs for 20,000 PE (population equivalents) in the first phase, whereas the capacity would increase by an additional 10,000 PE in the second phase.
– Following the realization of both phases, the waste water treatment facility in Zlatibor will have the total capacity of 30,000 PE, with the waste water capacity of 140 l/s – Topalovic adds.
The construction of the facility in Zlatibor will cost around EUR 4.5 million, and the municipality says that the funds have been provided from the municipal budget, whereas EUR 1.5 million was provided by the Slovenian government agency CMSR. A total of RSD 60 million (around EUR 488,000) was set aside for the purpose from this year's municipal budget.
The said project was prepared in line with the Water Law and is meant to improve and enhance the quality of the utility infrastructure and facilities in Zlatibor.
According to the requirements of Chapter 27 (environment), more than 300 waste water treatment facilities should be built in Serbia. It is estimated that their construction will require around EUR 5 billion, and the funds should be provided by European funds, the budgets of the state, the province of Vojvodina, towns and municipalities, donations...
