The Italian upholstered furniture company Top Sofa, which has been present in Vranje since 2010, has had its own factory in the free zone territory since a year ago, as is the case with the Italian footwear company Geox, but they did not use the services of the Vranje Free Zone until now.
Mayor of Vranje Slobodan Milenkovic said that, following this first step, other investors are expected to arrive to Vranje.
He said that the city planned to continue equipping the Vranje Free Zone with infrastructure in the coming period. In 2017, they will focus on building the first section of the bypass route around the village of Bunusevac.
Funds for the construction of this part of the infrastructure and the two planned bypass routes, in the amount of EUR 500,000, have been secured in the form of a grant through the EU Progress and the local self-government.
All the users of the Vranje Free Zone services have been provided with customs reliefs of 6% for transport and 20% for energy-generating products, as well as discounts on water usage of 50% compared to the market price.
