As said, Serbia hasn’t had such a quick growth of cooperation with any other country in the past years as it has with the UAE.
– From January till December last year, the foreign trade between the two countries amounted to USD 122 million. In the past few years, Serbia hasn’t had such a quick growth of cooperation with any other country – pointed out the director of the Sector for International Economic Cooperation of the CCIS, Nenad Djurdjevic.
The delegation of Dubai Exports included representatives of 20 companies from 10 different sectors, and, as the Ambassador of the UAE to Serbia, Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri, pointed out, his country has established excellent relations with Serbia in the past period.
– Serbia has plenty of potential, and excellent relations between our two countries have been established in the past period. Both governments have a mutual vision of cooperation and further enhancement of the relations – the ambassador pointed out.
He said that the projects in agriculture, the Belgrade Waterfront, sustainable energy, tourism and banking were a potential for further successful cooperation.
Deputy CEO of Dubai Exports, Mohammed Al Kamali, said that his delegation wanted to “open doors for both nations” and invited business people from Serbia, as well as its citizens, to visit the Emirates and Dubai, in order to get to know the business climate and the culture of his people.
Seven sectors which Serbia wants to enhance in cooperation with UAE investors were highlighted at the meeting, namely, the automotive industry, the IT sector, the metalworking industry, the aviation and defense industry, the agricultural sector, the textile industry and the wood processing industry.
Dubai Exports is an agency of the Government of Dubai, which operates within the Department of Economic Development of the emirate, and, according to the organizers, Arabian investors have placed the focus of their interest on Serbia in 2017.
