– We signed an agreement on the construction of a new industrial park in Belgrade, on the left side of the Danube, next to the Pupin Bridge, with the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). These are hundreds of hectares of land, which we will use for dozens of new companies from China and all over the world. This will be the biggest industrial park in this part of Europe – Mali said to the press in Beijing.
Furthermore, the mayor notes, an agreement was reached with Poly Group and a contract on the completion of the project of the sewer system in Belgrade and the water treatment factory in Veliko Selo, will be signed in the next 30 days, which, as Mali notes, is a project which has been expected for the past 30 years.
– This is the so-called interceptor, which all the waste water is supposed to go through, and from there to the new factory. It’s very important to us, we want the Sava and the Danube to be clean, and to be able to see, like in Vienna, that the water is clear all the way down to the bottom, that’s what we want to have in Belgrade, whereas, at the moment, all the waste water goes directly to the Sava and the Danube, making the rivers filthy – Mali said.
He said that he had had an opportunity in the capital of China to talk to people from Higer, from which the city of Belgrade had bought five electric buses, which were already being used in the capital of Serbia, and that Belgrade wanted to buy dozens of new electric buses from the company, so that the public transport would be conducted solely by electric buses, which, as Mali underlines, is very important in terms of ecology.
– On the other hand, we are trying to combine this with their entry to Ikarbus, so that our factory in Zemun would produce these electrical buses for export to Europe – said Mali.
Two Chinese companies are also shortlisted for the concessionaire for the Belgrade Airport, Mali reminds and says that there are negotiations with both of them, and that their bids are expected on May 30.
Furthermore, Mali points out that he has had a number of talks with private companies interested in smaller projects in Belgrade, such as the purchase of the Jugoslavija hotel, one of the last projects, as he notes, not to be completed, and which has been expected for 10-15 years now.
