Tesla to install three superchargers for electric vehicles in Serbia in 2017

The American automotive company Tesla has announced plans for the construction of first superchargers for electric vehicles in six countries of southeast Europe by the end of the year.

The company intends to build three stations in both Romania and Serbia and one in Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Moldova, the American company announced on its web page.

The chargers in Serbia, according to the map on Tesla's website, will be located near Belgrade, Pozega and Nis.

Tesla will also add four new stations to the current two in Croatia.

Superchargers can charge Tesla's vehicles several times faster than other stations.

Since the presentation of the charger in 2012, Tesla has built more than 5,400 superchargers with the aim of facilitating long-distance trips.

The company intends to double the number of chargers globally to over 10,000. Furthermore, it wants to expand its network of destinations in which it installs chargers in partnership with hotels, restaurants and garages – from 9,000 to 15,000 chargers.

In southeast Europe, in addition to Croatia, Tesla has three charging stations in Slovenia.
