As part of the strategy of development of tourism in Algiers, the possibility of abolishing visas for citizens of Serbia is being considered, said Ambassador of Algiers to Serbia Abdelhamid Chebchoub in his conversation with the students of the College of Tourism.

– Tourists from Serbia should get to know Algiers, “the land of thousand faces”, just as people of Algiers should expand their knowledge of Serbia – Chebchoub said.

Algiers has an average of seven million overnight stays a year, and the country recorded more than two million visits in 2016, an increase of 19.27% compared to 1.7 million in 2015.

– Serbia and Algiers have been nurturing friendly relations since the period of the Algerian Revolution, and the people of Algiers have not forgotten the help they've received in their struggle for independence from former Yugoslavia, the first country in the world to recognize the temporary government of Algiers – the ambassador said.
