(Marko Cadez) The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Marko Cadez, has stated that there are purchasers interested in Frikom, Dijamant and Mercator, companies operating within the Agrokor system, but he also noted that is only one of the possibilities.
– Both local companies and certain foreign funds are interested. There's interest and the money and the will. But you can't buy something you're not sure about before everything's clear and until the way the companies are connected within the system is determined, both in terms of credits and production, and until the new management's strategy is presented – Cadez said.
Cadez said in his interview for Novi Magazin that there's interest in Mercator in Slovenia as well, which can also be sold as a whole. He said that it was not bad that the Slovenian government had proposed Lex Mercator to the parliament. The case is thus raised to the state level and a signal is sent to everyone, including banks and suppliers, that the decomposition of Agrokor will be a controlled process, Cadez pointed out.
As he said, according to the information he's received, there are no indications of anyone in the Government of Serbia considering covering bad operations of certain companies with tax money.
– Judging by the statements of Croatian politicians, I believe that Croatia is not ready to do anything of the sort either. In a way, it can now act as a guarantee of stability or a guarantee that certain things will work if an agreement with the banks and the suppliers is reached, but that can't last forever either – Cadez said.
Cadez said that the situation with the companies within the system will become clear once a serious analysis has been conducted. – The Agrokor companies are interconnected in line with the business logic. Frikom is thereby connected to Ledo, Dijamant to Zvijezda... – Cadez explained.
Let us remind that, due to the situation in Agrokor, a ministerial team is being formed from representatives of the four states – Serbia, B&H, Montenegro and Slovenia, for the purpose of constant communication to the end of sharing information and carrying out joint activities in order to maintain jobs, the suppliers' interest and stable operations of the Agrokor companies in each individual country.
