Cvetex to open sports footwear factory in Rekovac – Jobs for 100 people by 2018

The sports equipment factory Cvetex from Belgrade will open a facility in Rekovac, an underdeveloped municipality in the Morava District. Initially, they will employ 40, and, by the end of 2018, 80 to 100 people.

– Cvetex has announced that the production is to start in mid-May. Among the 40 employees, mostly women, there will be 25 with previous experience and 15 to be trained – said Mayor of Rekovac Aleksandar Djordjevic for Tanjug.

He added that no new facility had been opened in Rekovac in the previous 20 years and that there had been no new employments either. Cvetex has several successful facilities in Serbia.

– In early April, I had a meeting with those interested, both those with experience in sewing and those who want to learn by working. A lot of people showed interest, unsurprisingly, as no new facility has opened here for so long and the unemployment rate is high – Djordjevic said.

Cvetex will organize training for 15 workers in cooperation with the Jagodina office of the National Employment Service.

The factory, as Djordjevic said, will initially be located in the hall of the former Konfekcija company in the center of Rekovac, until its own facility is raised. The municipality will ask the competent ministry to open a textile department withing the Agricultural and Veterinary School in Rekovac for the company's purposes, where dual education is to be carried out.

The municipality has provided Cvetex with 3,500 square meters of property with developed infrastructure for the purpose of raising the factory.
