The improvement of the competitiveness of Serbia's economy will depend on the speed of digitization of operations and the expansion of the telecommunications infrastructure, it was said on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Dialogue for Change panel of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) and representatives of the Government of Serbia.

– The era of paper, printers and fax machines has long since passed – said the newly appointed vice president of FIC, Ingeborg Ofsthus.

She pointed out that FIC would bring the dialogue between the Council and the Government of Serbia to a new level, especially regarding further enhancement of the economy's competitiveness and said that developed states and their economies had found a way of enhancing efficiency and transparency equally by implementing digitization in their operations and expanding the TC infrastructure.

– In order for it to become a more competitive state, Serbia needs to secure a business environment, but also to implement e-government and m-government so as to enhance its own efficiency and provide better services to both the private sector and the citizens – Ofsthus said.
