Environment Protection Fund finances realization of ecological projects in Steam Power Plant "Nikola Tesla" - contract worth 649m RSD

Obrenovac, Dragan Popović, has signed the contract worth 649m RSD with the
Republic Environment Protection Fund on financing of ecological projects during
next two years - people from Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) announced.
All funds anticipated by that contract will be used for ecological projects of TENT’s
steam power plants by the end of the next year. The company will get 249m
RSD in 2008 and another 415m RSD in 2009.
The Fund anticipated granting of
664m RSD to TENT and Steam Power Plant "Kostolac B" within next two
years for the environment protection projects.
These funds represent only 6-7% of total investments that will be realized by EPS in 2008 and 2009 for the sake of implementation of ecological projects.
During this and next year, EPS will set aside between 6 and 7 billion RSD for these purposes, and the rest of the money will be provided from their own funds, as well as from the international loans and donations.
The incomes realized by business organizations of Public Company EPS from possible commercial exploitation of equipment, which is financed with the funds of the Republic Fund, will be partially invested in further financing of ecological projects.
