New facility of American company Lear opens in Novi Sad

The American company Lear, a global producer of components for the automotive industry, which already operates in Novi Sad, opened a new production facility in Novi Sad’s North IV Work Zone on Thursday, March 30, 2017.

The new facility, together with offices and warehouses, has 29,000 square meters of area and will produce wiring systems for the two biggest European car manufacturers.

The expansion of the production capacities will enable the company to employ 1,400 people in the coming period, Lear reported.

The company operates in 37 countries and employs more than 150,000 people. The facility in Novi Sad will act as a complement to other production spots in Europe.

Lear currently places 154th of the 500 most successful companies of the world, according to Fortune, and will mark its 100th anniversary this year, the press release says.
