The summer flight schedule at the Nikola Tesla Airport, to be in effect from March 26 till October 28, will feature 30 airlines in regular passenger transport, with routes to 70 airports in 36 states in Europe, USA, North Africa and the Middle East.
The new item in the national airline Air Serbia's flight schedule are flights to Venice, to be carried out four times a week, beginning with June 1.
Transavia Airlines will establish direct flights to Amsterdam on April 4, to be carried out three times a week, whereas AtlasGlobal Airlines will continue its daily flights to Istanbul, established during the winter season.
In the second half of May, Wizz Air will establish flights to four new destinations: Friedrichshafen, Nuremberg, Hanover and Malta, with two flights a week.
Ellinair will re-establish flights to Heraklion in early June and establish flights to Thessaloniki in mid-June.
The biggest change compared to last year's schedule is that flights to Hamburg, New York, Saint Petersburg and Malta will be available at the very beginning of the summer season.
With the beginning of the holiday season, the national airline will, as usual, increase the number of weekly flights to Athens, Beirut, Dubrovnik, New York, Larnaca, Saint Petersburg, Malta, Bucharest, Split and Tivat and will also establish additional daily flights to Thessaloniki, Skopje and Ohrid.
With the introduction of a second plane to the base, Wizz Air will increase the number of flights to Dortmund, Eindhoven, Malmo, Memmingen, Gothenburg and Stockholm Skavsta, and Qatar Airways will establish regular flights from Belgrade on October 1.
Arkia Airlines and Israir, which did not have flights from the airport last summer, will increase the number of flights during the summer season compared to the winter season. Israir will have five, and Arkia three flights a week, with two weekly flights carried out by an intercontinental aircraft of the Boeing 757 type.
Furthermore, some companies will increase the airplane capacity during the season, with easyJet using a larger aircraft of the Airbus A320 type for flights to Belgrade, whereas Germany's Lufthansa will use Airbus A319 instead of Embraer E195 for most flights to Munich. As well, Poand's LOT will occasionally use a larger aircraft of the Embraer E195 type.
