(Belgrade) The City of Belgrade received on Tuesday (March 21, 2017) good news – it improved its credit rating. According to Moody’s agency report, it stepped up from B1 to BA3 which is a step up, mayor Siniša Mali said.

- For citizens, this is very important because without major credit rating there are no investments in new equipment in public sector or in kindergartens, hospitals, schools. A higher credit rating means more investors and more favorable environment for investors. This way we earn through taxes, our construction industry is engaged, workers are employed. One pulls the other – the mayor said.

He specified that the rating of the City is the same as of the Republic, which is for Belgrade as local government high praise, Beoinfo writes.

The mayor said he is confident that Belgrade’s credit rating will grow further. He once again reminded that this means greater security investments, more money in the budget, and more resources for social spending and other budget users. Credit agency Moody's recently increased the credit rating of the Republic of Serbia.

Credit agency Moody's has recently increased credit rating for the Republic of Serbia as well.
