Draskovic to establish 300 new hectares in Vrsacki Vinogradi – Procurement of new mechanization and preparation of project for new winery in progress

The owner of the Swisslion Takovo business system, Rodoljub Draskovic, has stated that he hasn't bough Vrsacki Vinogradi in order to sell the company's property, but in order to recover the vineyards and contribute to the development of wine growing in the Vrsac area.

He pointed out in his interview for the Novi Magazine portal that his company would start preparing the land for raising 300 hectares of new vineyards.

– We have opened a tender for the procurement of new primary and secondary processing mechanization and the mechanization for raising new vineyards, and the preparation of the project for the construction of a new winery in a new location is also in progress. The projects will be defined in the next 15 days, and the selection of the contractor and producers of grape processing and winemaking equipment is to follow – Draskovic said and added that the investment would be completed by September 1, 2017.

The capacity of the new winery will be able to accommodate the amounts processed from 5,000 hectares of the vineyards in the Vrsac wine making area.

– By realizing this investment, Vrsacki Vinogradi and the Vrsac winery will take the leading spot in Europe. Vrsacki Vinogradi will unify the project of the development of the Vrsac wine making area. Cooperation will be established with all winemakers of the Vrsac region, with Vrsacki Vinogradi providing professional help in choosing sorts and technologies and guaranteeing the purchase of grapes for wine production in line with clearly pre-defined conditions – Draskovic said.

He announced that the next phase in his business plans, following the revitalization of Vrsacki Vinogradi, was the development of a Mediterranean grape plantation and Mediterranean wines.
