Chinese interested in highway construction and investing in Novi Sad industrial zone – Potential projects in education as well

The delegation of Chinese businessmen, headed by Ambassador of China to Serbia Li Manchang, visited Novi Sad on Tuesday, February 21. The guests were welcomed by Mayor Milos Vucevic, and it was estimated during the talks that the international relations of Serbia and China were already developed and that there was therefore a possibility of realizing projects in the Novi Sad area, especially in economy, development of infrastructure and education.

As stated in the press release by the mayor's cabinet, the most concrete possibilities of cooperation were presented in the form of involvement in the realization of the project securing the construction of the highway section from Ruma to Novi Sad, investments in utility infrastructure, cooperation through public-private partnerships, and the Chinese delegation also displayed great interest in investing in the city's industrial zone.

The delegation, consisting of six Chinese businessmen interested in initiating or expanding their operations in Serbia, presented the companies already operating in Serbia. They informed the mayor about the projects they were already working on, as well as potential new investments in the area of the City of Novi Sad.

Milos Vucovic thanked them for the interest shown and pointed out that all investments had a considerable impact on the development of the city and employment, as well as that Chinese companies were most welcome and that they would be supported by the City of Novi Sad in line with its authority.

It was jointly decided for Novi Sad to soon organize the presentation of new investment possibilities in line with the interest displayed by the Chinese delegation.
