Knott Autoflex Yug opens new facility in Becej – Investment worth EUR 1.3 million

The new facility of the factory Knott Autoflex Yug for production of car trailer components, where an additional 150 workers will be employed, opened today in Becej in the presence of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. The new facility has an area of 9,500 square meters and the investment is worth EUR 1.3 million.

Vucic said that he was pleased that another German investment was realized and pointed out that 33,000 people worked in German companies in Serbia.

– I expect that the number will soon exceed 35,000 and that it will even reach 50,000 in the future – Vucic said and pointed out that it was the Government of Serbia's goal to work on creating new jobs and attracting investors in the next period.

Knott Autoflex Yug was founded in 2003, and it produces auto bodies, trailers and semi-trailers. The Becej-based company exports more than 90% of its production to EU, Israel, Russia, Turkey and USA.

The Knott Group operates through three companies – Motorflex Remont, Knott Autoflex Yug and Autoflex Livnica. The facilities of all three companies have a total area of 23,000 square meters and the number of employees amounts to 570.

Knott Autoflex Yug started operating in 2003 with only about ten workers in an old 1,000 m2 hall, whereas the same location now features business premises of more than 10,000 square meters.

The group's investment in Serbia so far amounts to EUR 15.5 million, of which EUR 10,3 million in Autoflex. The turnover of Autoflex was EUR 24.5 million, and of all three companies combined EUR 33.47 million.
