Serbia and Republic of Srpska to modernize ski center on Jahorina - starting investment wort 5m EUR

Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, announced yesterday (April 17, 2008) that Serbia and REpublic of Srpska would finance modernization of Ski center "Jahorina" together and that about 5m EUR would be invested in the first phase.

After the meeting with the Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republic of Srpska, Predrag Gluhaković, Dinkić said that they had agreed on founding of joint venture of Skijališta Srbije and Ski center "Jahorina". As he said, the first move will be replacement of old cable railway and construction of new and modern ski lifts.

- Skijališta Srbije will finance construction of ski lifts, while Jahorina will provide necessary infrastructure and pay for the expenses of disassembling of old and construction of new ski lifts - he pointed out and added that the integrated system of ski passes would be introduced, so that one ski pass could be used on both Jahorina and Kopaonik.
