Green light for Greeks to build – All conditions met for works in location of former Beko

(Initial plan) We have managed to resolve numerous issue which stood in the way of the realization of the Beko project, and, as far the City of Belgrade is concerned, it's only a matter of time when the realization is to begin, as there are no legal or urban planning problems left, said City Manager Goran Vesic.
– We are fully open to investments in real estate and infrastructure and I believe that the impulse given by prime ministers Aleksandar Vucic and Alexis Tsipras through this business forum will draw further Greek investments to Belgrade – Vesic added.
He said that Greeks had had several big investments in Belgrade, such as Metropol hotel, Jugoslavija hotel, for which all the necessary urban planning conditions for the beginning of the construction had been met, the Beko project, and there were also investments in banking, retail...
– During our latest visit to Athens, the City of Belgrade presented its projects and we want to continue what is a very good cooperation – Goran Vesic pointed out and added that he hoped that Greek investors would invest further in Belgrade and Serbia.
Let us remind that the Greek company Lamda bought the premises of the former Beko factory at Kalemegdan back in 2007 and that a 100,000 m2 hotel complex should be built in its place. Although the company initially planned the construction of a megalomaniac 140,000 m2 project in the location, they eventually gave up on it, Beoinfo.
