(Radovan Jelasic) All Greek banks in Serbia are for sale – Vojvodjanska Banka (NBG), Piraeus Bank, Eurobank and Alpha Bank, says the former governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic, now a member of Greek-based Hellenic Financial Stability Fund.

He said that he was following with great interest the process of the sale of Vojvodjanska Banka (NBG), Piraeus Bank, Eurobank and Alpha Bank.

– The Alpha Bank process is definitely near completion. We have a minority share there as the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund. To us, it’s more important to see how the sale of NBG, where we have 40% of the ownership, will transpire, as well as that of Piraeus Bank – Jelasic said for Danas.

He emphasized that the Fund needed the money, as did Greek tax payers, which had invested around EUR 35 million in Hellenic.

Jelasic is currently involved in issuing licenses to Greek banks, among other places, in Serbia, and, as a member of the Supervisory Board, which has 40% of ownership in the National Bank of Greece and 20% in Piraeus, he participates in the sale of these banks, not just in Bulgaria and Romania, but in Serbia as well.
