EPS looking for partner for monitoring and analysis of ice regime on Danube at Kladovo – Invitation open until February 27, 2017

Kladovo-based Djerdap hydro power plant (Hidroelektrana Djerdap) branch of Elektroprivreda Srbije has opened a public invitation for bids for the service of monitoring and analysis of the ice regime on the Danube over a period of two years.

Monitoring and measuring will be used directly by the Flood Defense Office for signalization of arrival of large ice formations to certain sectors of the Danube and assessment of the amounts, monitoring and checking of the timeline of arrival of ice formations to certain downstream “critical profiles”, estimate of the degree of risk of congestion of “critical profiles” with ice, as well as timely undertaking of defense measures.

In case of more severe winter conditions and extraordinarily unfavorable ice regime conditions, a program of special monitoring activities will be organized at critical points and sectors to the end of monitoring the development of ice formations and undertaking and carrying out adequate defense measures.

Special monitoring entails prospection of the waterway by helicopter or airplane and mapping the sector with accumulated ice, prospection of the waterway sector by field vehicles and determining the state of water meters along the accumulation, along with repairing potentially damaged current water meters and installing new ones on the ice barrier sector.

Bids are submitted directly or by mail, by February 27, 2017, at 12.30 pm, at the address of the Kladovo company, where the public opening of the bids will take place on the same date at 1 pm.

The criterion for awarding the contract is the lowest price offered, and the decision will be made within 25 days from the day of the opening of bids at the most.
