Investors from Azerbaijan interested in petrochemical sector in Serbia

Companies from Azerbaijan are interested in the privatization of companies in Serbia, especially those from the petrochemical sector, it was said yesterday at the meeting between Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic and Ambassador of Azerbaijan Eldar Hassanov.

Hasanov delivered the letter from Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev and Vice President of the European Commission Marosh Shefchovich inviting Minister Antic to take part in the third ministerial session of the advisory council of the Southern Gas Corridor, to be held on February 23 in Baku.

A strong development of the two countries’ bilateral relations and cooperation was recognized at the meeting, and the readiness for creating potential for expansion and enhancement of the economic cooperation, as well as increasing the volume of Azerbaijani investments in the Serbian economy, was also confirmed, the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia reported.


Ambassador of Azerbaijan Eldar Hasanov informed the Serbian minister of the results of the construction of the TAP and TANAP pipelines up till then, as well as of the interest of Azerbaijani companies in the process of privatization of companies in Serbia, especially those from the petrochemical sector.
