Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic and Ambassador of Iran to Serbia Hossein Molla Abdollahi talked on Friday, January 20, about enhancing the bilateral relations and the economic cooperation between the two countries and agreed that the signing of a free trade agreement would contribute to the growth of merchandize trade.

It was agreed to form a joint expert group which would initiate talks about the preparation of the agreement, the ministry reported.

Ljajic and Abdollahi also talked about enhancing the cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as about initiating the operations of Serbia’s tourist office in Tehran, whose opening is expect to take place soon.

The operating expenses of the office will be fully covered by the Iranian side, the report says.

Abdollahi notified Ljajic that Serbia would be once again visited by a large group of Iranian tourists in March, following the previous year’s successful realization of the first organized arrival of guests from Iran, the report says.
