Serbia 69th on Forbes list of best countries for business – Of the countries of the region, only B&H places lower

Serbia has placed 69th on the Forbes list of the best countries for business in 2016.

The research encompasses 139 states, ranked by 11 criteria, among which are property rights, innovation, technology, corruption, as well as personal, monetary and trade freedom and investor protection.

As for the region, Slovenia, Macedonia and Croatia are far ahead of Serbia. Slovenia has placed 20th, Macedonia 35th, and Croatia 46th. Montenegro is in the 50th spot, followed by Albania, which Forbes has put in the 61st place on the list.

The lowest ranking country of the region is Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 82nd place.

According to Forbes, the best country for business in 2016 is Sweden, followed by New Zealand, Hong Kong, Ireland and Great Britain.


In the top 10 are also Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway and Canada. Of the top 25 ranked countries, as many as 18 are European countries.

The bottom of the list belongs to Chad, and the ten lowest ranking states include Haiti, Yemen, Venezuela, Laos, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Algiers and Ethiopia.

Of the strongest world economies, the USA has the best ranking at 23rd spot. Russia has placed 79th, and China 102nd
