The cable factory Novkabel and the Chinese company Huawei have signed a EUR 500,000 agreement, which should be extended in phases and enable steady employment over the next four year to the workers of the Novi Sad company.

Let us remind that Novkabel was facing bankruptcy slightly over two months ago. The threat was removed following the adoption of the PPRP at the relevant court and an agreement with the biggest creditors, Elektroprivreda Srbije and Srbijagas, about the debt reprogramming.

– We have already started producing optical and TC cables for our Chinese partner – Director Zoran Stanojevic is happy to emphasize.

– Huawei has contracted the job of enhancing the complete system of the Post of Serbia, and we were accepted as the main supplier following nearly two months of various tests and ten negotiations – Stanojevic says.

As Stanojevic specifies, around 60 tons of various cables to be used to enhance the PTT system will be produced in the first phase.

– This job is an excellent reference for us, as it will prove that Novkabel is once again a company to be trusted and a company capable of meeting the demands of the market – Stanojevic says.

– This is another confirmation of our economic patriotism. I believe that each good job which enables the factory to survive is also very important to Serbia’s development as a whole – he adds.

Novkabel is also working on realizing big jobs worth EUR 3 million for their Russian partners. Thanks to all these arrangements, they manage to pay their gas and electricity bills, but also to pay salaries, regularly.

– I am therefore certain that we’ve overcome the crisis period and that we are no longer facing bankruptcy and the shutting down of the factory – the director of Novkabel emphasizes for Novosti.

Novkabel should also employ new workers after a long time.

– The scope of the work is such that we need at least ten new workers – Stanojevic says.

– As the works expand, I’m sure that there will be need for new job positions – he adds.
