The Brcko-based company Bimal intends to buy the Sombor-based edible oil factory Sunce, and, according to the Agrosmart portal, the negotiations are nearing completion, whereas the final agreement has not yet been signed.

As stated, Bimal has been using the Sombor facility for processing oleaceous plants for some time now, and they intend to become the factory’s owners.

The Bosnian company Bimal was privatized in 2002, and the majority owner is the Austrian company Seed Oil Holdings, which has invested more than BAM 100 million (around EUR 50 million) in it.

The Invej business system said for Agrosmart that Sunce was still owned by them, and that Bimal was a commercial partner.

– We are partners, but it is our legitimate right to enter partnerships in which one company provides the raw materials, and the other its production facilities – Invej says.

According to Agrosmart’s findings, the official Invej website no longer lists Sunce as a member of the business system, unlike the Vrbas-based company Vital, which is still listed.

The sale of the Sombor factory has long been talked about, and the Novi Becej-based company Zitoprerada used to process oleaceous plants in it before Bimal.

Sunce was bought from Delta by Predrag Rankovic Peconi ten years ago, and the factory has gone through several ups and downs since then.

One of the ways of dealing with operating issues has been to lease the factory, and Invej has a practice of letting other edible oil factories use its processing capacities in Vital as well.

Bimal’s oil can be found in the markets of the region and the European Union, and the company’s representatives have stated that an increased export to Turkey and the Middle East has been recorded in the past few years, as well as that the products have reached as far as China and Malaysia, Agrosmart says.
