India's Mahindra Group interested in investing in Serbia

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and the Mahindra Group CEO Anand Mahindra have talked about the company's potential investments in Serbia, reported the Government of Serbia.

As stated, Vucic informed Mahindra of the economic reforms carried out it Serbia in the previous two years, as well as of its progress on the Doing Business list.

He invited the CEO of the Mahindra Group to visit Serbia and consider the possibilities the country provided foreign investors with, as well as the markets of the countries Serbia had signed free trade agreements with.

– I find Serbia to be a very interesting market and the destination with the best location in the heart of Europe – Mahindra said and pointed out that Indian investors looked for political stability and secure markets and that Serbia fulfilled both those requirements.

The topics of the conversation also included the arms industry and electrical cars, produced by Mahindra, but also the export of Serbian raspberries and other food products to India.

Members of the Club Mahindra, member of the Mahindra Group, wish to come to Serbia and explore the possibilities of expanding the club, which would also bring a large number of Indian tourists to Serbia.


The Mahindra Group is a multinational company and one of around twenty biggest Indian companies. It operates in more than 100 countries worldwide in the fields of aviation, agribusiness, automotive industry, production of construction and industrial machines, energy, finance, IT, hotel business and real estate.

The company, headquartered in Mumbai, has more than 200,000 employees and total revenues of USD 17.8 billion. Mahindra is the largest producer of tractors in the world today, states the website of the Government of Serbia.
