Chinese trade center opened in former unit of "Mašinoteks" in Leskovac - commencement of production announced
Economic adviser in the Embassy of People's Republic of China, Ren Lee, and President of Regional Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac, Goran Jović, have opened a Chinese trade center in former unit of "Mašinoteks".
About 400,000 EUR were invested in adaptation of this space, and jobs were created for 75 Chinese and 40 Serbs.
Jović said that the opening of the trade center was good method for making trade in Chinese goods legal.
- China is a developing country and it seeks new markets. We are not the only country that does this. You can find Chinese trade centers in European Union, in Italy, Germany and other countries - said Jović.
He said tha the opening of the trade center should not be considered as "threat to our production".
- China introduces some new standards in field of protection of workers and social programs. Therefore, their goods will not be that cheap in the near future - says Jović.
- The Chinese also rented a land in Pečenjevac and they plan to start production there - said Jović and added that they planned to invest additional 2m EUR in that facility.
