Jelena Pavlovic, General Manager of Philip Morris for South East Europe, says that this tobacco giant is working intensively on developing and commercializing alternative tobacco products, and that the company’s office in Serbia will not neglect its core activity. It is planning to keep its leading position in the conventional cigarette market and remain one of the biggest exporters from Serbia.

– Regarding the Nis factory, our plans for it are big and it keeps on growing all the time. In 2015, we increased the production by 60% and produced a record number of 19 billion cigarettes, and we managed to break that record already in October 2016. We ended the year with results 20% better than those made in the previous year, and we plan to grow further in 2017 – Pavlovic said.

She noted that four out of five cigarettes made in Nis were exported and that Philip Morris had ended 2016 as one of the top 5 exporters.

Pavlovic added that the Serbian office of Philip Morris became the center of operations for six markets of the SEE region – Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo, Wisebroker reports.
