GRCIC: EPS makes profit of RSD 16.5 billion

Acting director of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), Milorad Grcic, said on December 27 that the public enterprise had made a profit of more than RSD 16.5 billion in the first 10 months of 2016, RSD 15.5 billion more than planned.

Grcic said to the press at the pre-New Year's meeting that EPS would have RSD 52 billion on its account and that it would pay RSD 10 billion in taxes and contributions the next month.

Grcic pointed out that EPS's revenues from exported electricity from the beginning of the year till mid-December amounted to EUR 76.6 million.

– The overhaul of Unit 2 at the Nikola Tesla B thermal power plant was completed two days before the deadline for the first time in history – Grcic said.

He added that the enterprise had 33,500 employees and that around 2,000 had signed up for severance payments up till then.
