Germany's Hydroweb building factory in Jagodina – Investment worth EUR 20 million

The company Hydroweb from the German city of Halberstadt will build a factory with an area of 4,000 square meters in Jagodina, and the value of the investment is EUR 20 million. The factory will employ 50 workers in the first phase and an additional 50 later on.

– The company produces materials used in medicine, construction and car industry. A part of the production is meant for the Italian company Confezioni Andrea Serbia in Jagodina, and the rest for export to China and the Russian Federation – said the president of the Assembly of the city of Jagodina, Dragan Markovic Palma, who announced the beginning of the construction for February or March 2017.

Markovic pointed out that the German investor hadn't and wouldn't ask for any subsidies, whereas the city of Jagodina had provided free land with all the necessary infrastructure in the industrial zone at Corridor 10.

He added that it was the twelfth factory to be built in Jagodina from foreign investments.

The company's owner, Andreas Kirsch, pointed out that the latest technology would be installed in the factory.

– We have chosen Jagodina for many reasons, one of which is our great cooperation with Confezioni Andrea Serbia in the past years, another one being the infrastructure provided by Serbia and Jagodina, and then there's a direct entry to the Mediterranean countries. The duty-free agreements of Serbia with Russia, as well as your relations with China, are all interesting when it comes to our future.

– We intend to keep 50% of the production in Serbia and to export the rest – Kirsch concluded.
