(Illustration) Following Belgrade, Indjija, Novi Sad and Majdanpek, Vrsac is the fifth city in Serbia to get its own Startit center. At the opening, it brought together numerous people of Vrsac interested in the IT sector. The Vrsac Startit center is located at the Millennium Center and in the coming days various educational programs and workshops will start being organized here. The center aims to stimulate further growth and strengthen the local IT community, as well as to enable its members to improve their online business.

– The Startit center is not some kind of a magical place which will turn people into programmers, but it is a place which will help them step outside the common reality of waiting for the job and enable them to take matters into their own hands and learn something that will enable them to get well-paid jobs – explains Vladimir Trkulja, representative of the Startit organization and co-founder of SEE ICT.

– Startit is already organizing programming training for the youngest in its centers and this is one of the programs that will be implemented here in December. We will initiate the web design training program for the unemployed, and, on the other hand, we wish for this space to be the meeting point for all professionals to discuss certain topics very interesting to them, such as wordpress, design, internet marketing – emphasizes Ivan Cosic of the Vrsac online community, co-founder of WWVrsac internet conference.

The change, as they say, won't come overnight, but many people will make their first internet business steps here, exclusively thanks to their own initiative and capability to do something for themselves, found companies, employ others and, finally, introduce their products to the global market.

– An average person looking to change professions, to become a programmer, can't turn into one in three, six or twelve months. This happens over a long time period, but what's important is that, already after six months, people can acquire concrete knowledge enabling them to earn money through freelancing and continue down the road of professional development in IT – Trkulja adds.

The Vrsac Startit center was opened with the support of companies Nordeus, Telekom Srbija and Eipix, as well as the City of Vrsac and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, through the project Startit Centers for Entrepreneurship and Technology – Place of Knowledge, Innovation and Inspiration. Furthermore, Eipix, the world leader in designing HOPA games, has decided to move its Vrsac premises to the Startit center and get closer to its current and future potential associates and colleagues.
