Skype enables chatting and calling without registering

Skype is still a favorite online communication application, even though it has recently gotten serious competition. Ever since it was acquired by Microsoft, it has frequently been introducing new options and services, as this is the only way for it to remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market.

The latest option will probably increase the app’s popularity, as calls, video calls and the chat have been enabled to users without having to download and install the app or to register.

It’s enough to visit skype.com and choose the newly implemented “Start a conversation” option. Users are then prompted to choose a nickname and invite their friends to the chat or make calls and video calls.

Users’ friends don’t need to have Skype installed either – it’s enough to send them the link to the conversation window.

The options are nearly identical to those in the installed app, but the chat and conversation log gets deleted 24 hours after initiating a conversation.
