Consent given for privatization of "Terme" in Niška Banja
Director of the
Institute for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of rheumatic and
cardiovascular diseases "Niška Banja", Dr Aleksandar Dimić, said that the consent had been given for
privatization of facility of "Terme", which is a part of that health
center.
- The current main activity in "Terme" is specialized rehabilitation
of cardiovascular patients and, after privatization of tha facility, which has
100 beds, the Institute will not cease that activity - said Dr Dimić.
He
estimated that the privatization of that facility would not endanger medical care
of the insurants because treatment and rehabilitation can be continued in other
two facilities of Institute "Niška Banja" - in "Radon",
which has 310 beds, and in "Zelengora" with 140 beds.
Dimić pointed out that the medical network had total of 420 beds intended for rehabilitation and treatment of the insurants.
- Our obligation is to submit privatization prospectus to the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, which should contain all relevant information on the Institute - Dimić explained.
According to his words, privatization of rehabilitation centers in Serbia is at its beginning and the mistakes made by the neighboring countries, when everything in connection with spa treatment was privatized, should not be repeated.
- Privatization of rehabilitation centers should go to the limit that would not endanger regular medical network in Serbia - said Dimić.
Institute "Niška Banja" is also the education base of Niš's Faculty of Medicine. It includes Clinic for Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, Clinic for Treatment of Cardiovascular Patients and Orthopedics Hospital
