State to help Sevojno Copper Mill – Budget money available in 2017 as well

Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic stated on October 5 that the state would help Sevojno Copper Mill (Valjaonica bakra Sevojno) in order to make it solvent and operational at full capacity.

As Knezevic said, the mill has a problem with solvency, and the state will try to enable them to modernize their facilities so that they could operate at a greater capacity and to provide financial means as well.

– It’s up to the management to decide how to use the money – Knezevic said and added that the Ministry of Economy is working on bringing investors, especially foreign ones.

He took a tour of the mill, the company MTK Metal Komerc and the company Impol-Seval in Uzice. The minister said that he had visited Uzice factories which employed almost 2,000 workers and were very significant to the economy of that region.

– They do belong to the chain and are important to other producers, above all those from the arms industry, which is going through a huge expansion, so we are familiar with the problems they are facing here – Knezevic said.

He added that the state wanted to help those companies and that there would be money in the 2017 budget for them to increase their production and expand their capacities as much as possible and make a profit, benefiting not only themselves but the state as well.
