Modiana, the company which sells clothes for men and women, is no longer in the portfolio of Mercator, i.e. Ivica Todoric's Agrokor. The acquisition process has been completed, making the Montecristo SL company the new owner beginning with October 1.

The co-owners of Montecristo are Goran Kristan and Emkay Investments from Hong Kong. The new owner has taken over all the employees and operations in all the markets Modiana operated on, along with an agreement on the lease of commercial space with Mercator. Modiana has 47 stores in Slovenia, 22 in Croatia and 13 in B&H and Serbia each.

The director of Montecristo SL, Goran Kristan, points out that they gave ambitious developmental plans for Modiana, that they intend to fill the shelves with new famous brands, but also with their own brands, at prices adjusted to the demands of both their old and new customers.

Modiana's exit from Agrokor's portfolio marks the completion of the sale of the segments acquired through Mercator's takeover which didn't fit into the business plans of the concern.

Pekarna Grosuplje was the first one to be sold to the local Slovenian company Don Don. Franck then acquired the Santana and Loka coffee brands, and the sale of Intersport to the Polish investment fund Enterprise VII was completed recently.
