Collective agreement signed at Zelezara Smederevo – Union members satisfied with agreement with the Chinese

The Autonomous Trade Union of Metalworkers at Hesteel Serbia reported that a collective agreement had been signed in the former Zelezara Smederevo, without revealing the details, except to say that the agreement “is a reflection of a fair relation and mutual respect” and that “the workers’ rights are being honored”.

– The collective agreement which has been signed at Hesteel Serbia is the result of difficult but fair negotiations the unions had with representatives of the company for more than 40 days – said the president of the Autonomous Trade Union of Metalworkers of Hesteel Serbia, Mileta Gujanicic.

– This is the first time we’ve negotiated with the Chinese management, with a lot of uncertainty in the very beginning and during the negotiations, but the end result and the contents reflect a fair relation and the respect we’ve received. The workers don’t need to worry for another three years, during which the collective agreement will remain valid.

In addition to representatives of the unions, the collective agreement has also been signed by the general manager of Hesteel Serbia, Sihai Song.
