The agreement was signed by the general manager of the Institute of Transportation CIP, Milutin Ignjatovic, and the deputy director general of the Design Institute NIIAS, Andrey Pavlosky.
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic stated after the signing that the new dispatch center would allow for the management of the entire railway traffic system in Serbia.
She pointed out that the estimated investment value of the dispatch center was USD 20 million, but that the actual value would be known only after the technical documentation had been prepared.
According to her, the Serbian Railways need the new center, since the current one is over 30 years old.
– If we want to develop, to connect the railways, and connect to the region in a proper way, we need a modern center – Mihajlovic emphasized.
The first vice president of the Russian Railways, Alexander Misharin, pointed out that the new dispatch center would be very important to the Serbian Railways and that it would contribute to reducing expenses, increasing efficiency and making the railway traffic more attractive.
