The vice president of the Government of Vojvodina, Ivan Djokovic, signed an agreement worth EUR 876,000 between wood packaging manufacturer ArborSpalet from Backa Palanka and wholesale and mediation company Arbon from Celje on Friday, September 16, within the Celje International Trade Fair.

Djokovic also opened the traditional ceremony Dan Vojvodine (Day of Vojvodina) within the Fair, which was held from September 13 till 18, and added that he hoped that Slovenian experience would find its place in Serbia and be used in its economy, especially in the area of developing hotel and rural tourism.

– It's necessary to use the economic potentials and lines of cooperation and turn our attention from the trade related to industrial giants to small, micro and medium enterprises. I believe that we will establish a dialogue in cooperation with the relevant ministry and the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia, along with a more active involvement of all factors in the period ahead, and that we will define concrete incentives through that dialogue – he said.

Djokovic also said that he hoped that banks and large store chains were willing to put their systems at disposal for the purpose of strengthening production cycles and helping entrepreneurs.

The vice president of the Government of Vojvodina talked about enhancing and deepening the economic cooperation with the director of the Celje Fair, Robert Otorepec, and Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Pocivalsek, and he also took part in the traditional business meeting of the regional chambers of commerce.

This year's Celje International Trade Fair brought together businessmen, investors and guests from 35 countries, whose experience and good practice were transferred and implemented through numerous business meetings, presentations and seminars.
